The website busmagus.com and the BusMagus mobile applications (together, the "Platform") are operated by Magus Group Albania ("we", "us"), a company registered in the Republic of Albania with its registered office at Linze, Nd. 30, H. 31, AP. 52, Dajti, 1040, Tirana, tax identification number L92228018L. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Platform and every booking made through it. By using the Platform or placing a booking you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Platform.
The Platform is a booking service. The transport itself is provided by independent, licensed bus and coach operators ("Operators"). When you book a journey, a contract of carriage is formed between you and the Operator named on your ticket, and we act as the Operator's authorised ticketing agent and as the operator of the Platform. Our own obligations towards you are set out in these terms; the Operator's obligations are set out in the Operator's conditions of carriage, which are made available before you pay, and in the law.
"Booking" means a reservation of one or more seats on one or more journeys made through the Platform. "Ticket" means the confirmation we issue for a paid Booking, by email and in your account, carrying a booking code. "Passenger" means each person named on a Ticket. "You" means the person who makes the Booking, whether or not they travel. "Operator" means the licensed bus company that performs the carriage. "Add-on" means an optional paid service offered at checkout, such as the Flexible Ticket or seat selection.
You may book as a guest or through an account. You must be at least 18 years old to make a Booking, and you warrant that the information you give us and the Operator is accurate. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for everything done under them. You may not use the Platform to extract data by automated means, to resell tickets commercially without our written agreement, to interfere with its operation or to do anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.
Search results show the Operators serving your journey with their departure times, duration, stops, amenities, reviews and prices. Your Booking is made when you complete checkout and your payment is authorised; until then, seats are only held for a limited time shown on the screen, after which they are released. Your Ticket is sent to the email address you gave and is available in your account or, for guest bookings, through the link in the confirmation email. Check the Ticket as soon as it arrives. If any detail is wrong, contact us at once through the Help pages; corrections requested within 24 hours of booking, and before departure, are made free of charge where the Operator permits.
The fare shown is the Operator's own fare. We add no margin to it. Where an Operator applies fare rules such as advance-purchase prices or occupancy-based pricing, the price you see at the moment of booking is the price you pay; when a fare has dropped since it was first shown, the earlier fare is displayed struck through. Prices can be displayed in several currencies for convenience; the currency in which you are charged is stated at checkout. A payment processing surcharge may apply depending on the payment method and is shown as a separate line before you confirm. Payment is taken by the payment provider selected at checkout; we do not store your full card details. Where you book through a travel agency or a partner site, the agency or partner is responsible for collecting payment from you on its own terms.
Tickets are personal and issued in the Passenger's name. The Passenger must present the Ticket (on a phone screen or printed) together with a valid identity document matching the name on the Ticket; on international journeys, a passport or identity card valid for the countries crossed. Passengers should be at the departure point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, or earlier where the Operator says so. A Passenger who is not present at departure forfeits the Ticket, and no refund is due unless the Operator's conditions provide otherwise. Operators may refuse carriage to a Passenger who cannot show a valid Ticket and matching identity.
Whether a Ticket may be changed or cancelled, and on what terms, is decided by the Operator and shown before you pay. Unless the Operator's rules displayed at booking say otherwise, Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Where the Operator permits, cancellation is available up to the deadline shown (typically no later than two days before departure) and rescheduling to another departure up to the deadline shown (typically no later than four days before departure), in each case from your account or the link in your confirmation email. The optional Flexible Ticket Add-on, where offered, gives you the right to cancel or change within the window shown at checkout for a small percentage of the fare per Passenger. Refunds are made to the original payment method; payment processing surcharges and Add-ons already used are not refundable unless the law requires it. Our detailed rules are in the Cancellation and Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
If the Operator cancels a departure or expects a delay of more than 120 minutes, you may choose between continuing your journey at the earliest opportunity at no extra cost or a full refund of the Ticket price, with a free return to your point of departure where the journey has become pointless. For journeys covered by Regulation (EU) No 181/2011, your statutory rights to information, assistance and compensation apply in full and are described on our Passenger Rights page. We pass on to you, without delay, every notice of change we receive from the Operator, by email and, where you have given a mobile number, by message.
Each Operator sets its luggage allowance and any fees for excess luggage, and these are shown with the journey. As a rule one piece of hold luggage and one piece of hand luggage are included. Dangerous goods, weapons and items prohibited by law may not be carried. Passengers remain responsible for their hand luggage and valuables. Liability for hold luggage lies with the Operator under its conditions of carriage and the applicable law.
Child fares and age limits are set by each Operator and shown at booking; a document proving the child's age may be required at boarding. Minors travel under the responsibility of an accompanying adult. Unaccompanied minors are carried only where the Operator expressly permits it and, on international journeys, only with the written consent of the absent parent or guardian in a form acceptable to the border authorities.
Recognised assistance dogs travel free of charge. Other animals are carried only where the Operator permits it, under the Operator's conditions.
Passengers must follow the driver's reasonable instructions and the Operator's rules. Smoking, the consumption of alcohol where prohibited, and behaviour that endangers or disturbs others are not allowed. An Operator may refuse to carry, or may remove, a Passenger who behaves in this way, without refund.
Add-ons such as the Flexible Ticket and seat selection are optional, priced separately and described at checkout. The Flexible Ticket buys the right to cancel or change described at checkout; it does not itself entitle you to a refund of the fare outside that right. Seat selection guarantees the seat chosen; where an Operator has to substitute a vehicle, an equivalent seat is allocated and the seat-selection fee is refunded on request.
Coupons and referral rewards are subject to the conditions shown when they are issued, are not exchangeable for cash, may be used once unless stated otherwise and may be withdrawn in case of misuse.
Only a Passenger who has travelled on a booked journey can review it. Reviews must be truthful and must not contain unlawful, defamatory or offensive content or personal data of third parties. By submitting a review or other content you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display it on the Platform and in our communications. We may moderate or remove content that breaches these rules, and Operators may reply to reviews publicly.
The Platform, its software, design, text, trade marks and databases belong to Magus Group Albania or its licensors and are protected by Law No. 35/2016 "On Copyright and Related Rights" and by international law. You may use the Platform only to search and book journeys for yourself or for people on whose behalf you are entitled to act.
We are responsible for operating the Platform with reasonable care and for the accuracy of the information we ourselves generate, such as your Ticket. We are not the carrier: we are not liable for the performance of the carriage, for delays, cancellations, accidents, or loss of or damage to luggage, all of which are the Operator's responsibility under its conditions and the applicable law, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have against us. Timetables and prices are supplied by the Operators and may change; we display them in good faith. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with a Booking is limited to the amount you paid for it through the Platform. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
Neither we nor the Operator is liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, road closures, border controls, strikes, civil unrest, or acts of public authorities. Your statutory rights to a refund or rerouting in case of cancellation are not affected.
We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, in accordance with Law No. 124/2024 "On Personal Data Protection" and, for residents of the European Union and the United Kingdom, the GDPR and the UK GDPR. Passenger details are shared with the Operator because the carriage cannot be performed without them.
Complaints about the Platform or a Booking may be sent through the contact form on our Help pages or to support@busmagus.com. We acknowledge every complaint within one month and give a final answer within three months of receiving it. Complaints about the carriage itself are forwarded to the Operator, and you may also address them to the Operator directly. Where Regulation (EU) No 181/2011 applies, you may afterwards refer the matter to the national enforcement body of the country concerned. Consumers resident in Albania may contact the Consumer Protection Commission; consumers resident in the European Union may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Albania, including Law No. 9902/2008 "On Consumer Protection" and Law No. 10128/2009 "On Electronic Commerce". Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tirana, Albania. If you are a consumer resident in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of that country and may bring proceedings before its courts.
We may update these terms. The version in force at the time of your Booking applies to that Booking. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
