Connect BusMagus to your AI assistant (MCP)

Ask your AI assistant for a bus - and get real answers

BusMagus runs a free MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the open standard AI assistants use to call outside tools). Connect it to ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant and it can look up real departures, times, fares and free seats on the routes we sell, and give you a link that opens the checkout of the coach you picked on busmagus.com.

Server address:

https://busmagus.com/mcp

It is read-only and needs no account, key or sign-up. It knows only what our public website shows: no personal data, no bookings, no payments. You still book and pay on busmagus.com.

What you can ask

  • "Is there a bus from Tirana to Thessaloniki on Friday, and how much is it?"
  • "What is the earliest bus from Prishtina to Tirana tomorrow, and are there seats left?"
  • "How long is the bus from Tirana to Skopje, and can I cancel the ticket?"
  • "Where does the bus to Athens leave from in Tirana?"

How to connect it

The menus of these apps change often, so the names below may differ slightly.

Claude

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it "BusMagus" and paste https://busmagus.com/mcp as the URL.
  3. Turn the connector on in a chat and ask about a bus.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors. Under Advanced settings, enable Developer mode if your plan requires it for custom connectors.
  2. Create a new connector with the MCP server URL https://busmagus.com/mcp and no authentication.
  3. Select it in a conversation and ask your question.

Desktop apps and developer tools

Any MCP client that supports the Streamable HTTP transport (Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and others) can use it. A typical configuration:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "BusMagus": { "url": "https://busmagus.com/mcp" }
  }
}

The tools it offers

  • find_cities - turns a place name, in any language or spelling, into the city we use, and says whether we sell tickets there.
  • search_departures - the departures between two cities on a date (up to seven days): times local to each stop, fare per adult, seats left, operator and a booking link.
  • route_facts - journey time, distance, price range, operators, cancellation and Flexible Ticket terms, luggage allowance and e-ticket rules for a route.
  • stations - the stations and stops we serve, with coordinates and a link to each station's timetable.

Good to know

  • Fares and seats are live when the assistant asks, but the checkout on busmagus.com always shows the final price before you pay.
  • The server allows up to 60 requests a minute per user, which is plenty for conversation.
  • Developers who want to sell tickets on their own site should use our partner API instead. See Partners and Distribution.
